What you do with money will shape who you become. Once or twice a year we teach on one of the Spiritual Disciplines, these are things we can do to allow God to do things that we can't. On Sunday 1st March Tim gave part one on the Spiritual Discipline of giving and spoke about the formational power of money in our lives. What we do with our time and money shows what's important to us and what matters to us. The biggest lie we believe is that our money and possessions belong to us as their owners. Jesus didn't say 'where your heart is there your money will be'. Your heart will end up in the right place if you follow Jesus' advice. If you see money clearly the rest of your body will be full of light. Come back next week for part two!

What keeps us going? Where do we place our confidence? What is it that sustains us? On Sunday 18th October we returned to our series in 2 Corinthians, picking up again at chapter 4. In this chapter we see that the Gospel speaks for itself and we can take confidence in that, the unseen is more important than the seen - God uses our human frailty and vulnerability, and finally the momentary and transient will give way to eternity. When things look bleak don't look out, look up!
Baptisms are special occasions at ACC and we were excited to have a baptism service on 11th October. As part of this Tim spoke about living water. 💧 Water is central to what it means to have life in our world yet water itself isn't a living thing. 💧 No matter how much we drink we get thirsty again. We are thirsty naturally for water and we are thirsty for more in our lives. What this world need is living water from heaven. Conflict is inevitable, even conflict in the church. But not all conflict is bad. On Sunday 20th September we continued our series in the book of 2 Corinthians, reading 2 Corinthians 1:12-2:17 and we looked at how Paul shows us a way of responding to conflict that might be helpful for us all these years later in the 21st century. There are moments in life when we need comfort. On Sunday 13th September Vanessa continued our new series in the book of 2 Corinthians and read from 2 Corinthians 1:1-11 where the word comfort appears ten times! God comforts us and we are to comfort others, but the ultimate comfort we have is in the promise of Jesus returning and fully reigning.
