Show Notes
Two major tragedies were thrust upon Super Rugby this week as both the Crusaders horses and Moana Pasifika officially get the axe from our great competition. Is this the future of Super? One axing at a time? In other news, it was poetry in motion as the Canes keep their No.1 status, with a decent thumping of the Blues, as Cam Roigard cements himself as the best halfback - probably in the world. The Chiefs pound Moana into literal non-existence to setup a thrilling top of the table clash next week in Hamilton. And the Crusaders faced the wrath of the hurting Reds side, as the 100th celebration to Filipo Dangunu geed the boys up to a historic win, the first at home against the Crusaders since 2011. Goes to show, anything can happen in this comp! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
More from Super Smack
After a gruelling series in Africa and two fast paced Bledisloes, the All Blacks have accumulated the largest injury list in their history, basically forming a squad of walking wounded that would beat most international teams. So what does this mean for their chances going forward into the Northern leg of the Nations Cup? This time the depth really will be tested. Hosted on Acast. The 24 year cardiac arrest continues for the Wallabies and you wouldn’t be shamed for ticking do-not-resuscitate later this week. Or maybe, just maybe the gold and green Phoenix will rise from the ashes to claim what’s left of their dignity. Only time will tell. Join the boys for a preview of this week’s Bledisloe 2 and an exciting NPC semi final round. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
This week on the pod, the boys discuss the team naming ahead of Bledisloe 1 at Eden park this Saturday. Is this Aussie’s best chance in years? Or are we being real and not giving them a shit show in hell? And NPC quarters are upon us - anyone but Canterbury please. Please. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The boys are back! After taking a couple of weeks off to commiserate and recuperate after being downtroued by a rampant Springboks side, the lads have surfaced to face the music and look ahead to some more All Blacks victories. We take a look at the heroics of the Wallabies and discuss whether they can keep their scintillating form and really challenge the ABs for the Bledisloe? Is 2026 finally their year? Probably not, but it’ll make for some good viewing! And Ra makes a shocking discovery about petrol. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
This week on the Smack, the boys lick their wounds as the ABs lose two on the trot in Africa. Did something happen to the men in black or were the Springboks just simply too good? We discuss the stand outs and who the stand-ins might be this weekend in Baltimore, as a drawn series hangs in the balance. Can each side go home with half the Stargate trophy each? All to play for!
