Students of Natural Health Podcast (by dannalorahdnaturopathy)Show Notes
Welcome to Voices of Natural Health! This is a bonus series produced under the Students of Natural Health Podcast, where I interview inspiring people and businesses who are already established and working within natural health fields. I’ll be asking your burning questions including the who, what, when, where, why and how’s behind what it takes to successfully navigate a career in the natural health field. And all through the lens of a curious student naturopath! Sasha is an experienced midwife and women’s health facilitator with qualifications in midwifery, yoga, sacral somatic therapy, kahuna massage and closing of the bones ceremonies. She has been facilitating home births in Moreton Bay Queensland, and is currently holding breech educational workshops for other midwives and closing of the bones workshops for birth workers. Sasha has also just launched her own podcast, called the Breech Birth Podcast, interviewing women who have had a breech baby. If you would like to learn from Sasha and find out more about her and her education, please check her out here: Website: https://www.barefootvibes.au Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sasha_barefoot_vibes/
Listen up student midwives and doulas, because this one's for you! In this episode we discuss: The student experience after university including securing a graduate position, FIFO and working in hospital, private and home-birth settings. Setting boundaries, imposter syndrome, and the realities of working as a doula and a midwife in a legal system. What is sacral somatic therapy? Plus, what kind of therapies should you bolster your career with? And finally, how do you navigate your morals and beliefs when they may differ to institution and client expectations?
