Ramaḍān Reminders 1438H: nightly reminders after Tarāwīḥ, by Ustādh Rayaan Barker (hafidhahullāh)
• Fasting is beloved to Allāh, with the reminder from Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (hafidhahullāh): renew the intention that we fast to please Him and to draw near to Him
• Patience upon the hunger and thirst of fasting, which are difficulties borne in the path of obedience
• Fasting means guarding the tongue, the sight and the hearing from the ḥarām, not only leaving food and drink
• Looking at ḥarām images corrupts the fast: a person can end the day with only hunger and thirst and no reward
• If one may not answer abuse with abuse while fasting, how can he himself be abusive to people?
• The state of the fasting person should differ from his state when not fasting: he should keep even further from what Allāh has made ḥarām
