Meidas Canada East Coast correspondent Lisa Blackburn takes us to a little chocolate factory in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, with a story that is anything but little. Peace by Chocolate is a Canadian chocolate company founded by the Hadhad family after they were forced to flee Syria and rebuild their lives in Canada. From a family that lost almost everything came a company built on resilience, community, peace — and an unwavering belief in the promise of Canada. Today, Peace by Chocolate is also showing what it means for Canadians to stand up when we are challenged.
