Purple Pants Podcast | The Amazing Race 29 Summer Rewatch: Episode Eight Recap

Brooke and Brice are joined by reality TV journalist, podcaster, and Parade TV editor Mike Bloom as the Purple Pants Podcast Summer Rewatch of The Amazing Race 29 continues with Episode 8, “Good Job, Donkey.” The Race leaves Italy behind and heads to Greece, where teams navigate winding mountain roads, tackle a Greek wedding-themed Detour featuring stubborn donkeys, sheep, and goats, face a game-changing Double U-Turn, and take on a Roadblock inspired by Greece’s iconic Presidential Guard ceremony in Athens. Together, Brooke, Brice, and Mike revisit the strategic decisions, relationship dynamics, and unforgettable moments that made this one of the season’s most memorable legs, while Mike shares his unique perspective as one of reality TV’s most respected journalists. Whether you’re revisiting Season 29 or experiencing it for the first time, this Summer Rewatch recap is packed with behind-the-scenes insights, thoughtful analysis, and plenty of laughs you won’t want to miss.
