The forgiveness practice Ask for Guidance: Begin by asking the Holy Spirit to reveal anyone you may be harboring resentment or bitterness toward. Create the List: Write down the names of people who have hurt you. Be Specific: Next to each name, write down the specific actions they took that caused you pain and the emotions (anger, sadness, depression) you feel. The Act of Release: Once written, the paper is often crumbled up or torn to be destroyed to symbolize letting go of the burden.
