- Hannah Miller, Bloomberg Media Reporter, discusses Paramount Skydance closing its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, combining two of the five largest Hollywood film studios and uniting major franchises such as Harry Potter and Mission Impossible. - Natalie Lung, Bloomberg Tech Reporter, discusses Uber Technologies buying ezCater for $2.3 billion in a cash deal to help the Uber Eats delivery platform reach a more corporate clientele. The purchase will boost Uber’s food delivery business, which makes up about nearly half of the company’s overall gross bookings. ezCater generated over $2.5 billion in gross bookings over the trailing 12 months and works with more than 140,000 restaurants nationwide.

-- Ed Ludlow, Bloomberg Tech Host, discusses top tech stories. Nvidia is nearing a $6 trillion market capitalization as investors return to the artificial-intelligence chipmaker after a disappointing start to the year. Moonshot AI has closed the final round of private fundraising at a valuation of about $50 billion and is heading toward an initial public offering in Hong Kong in the first quarter of next year. DeepSeek is close to securing at least 80 billion yuan in its latest round of funding, ahead of a landmark initial public offering in early 2027.

-- Will Wade, Bloomberg News Energy Reporter, discusses Google parent Alphabet agreeing to buy nuclear power from Constellation Energy Corp. in a 20-year power-purchase agreement that will drive more than $4.3 billion in investments to upgrade systems at 11 Constellation reactors. The agreement will add 890 megawatts of new reactor capacity and the electricity will start arriving on the grid as soon as 2028. The deal is part of a trend of tech companies investing in nuclear energy to support their operations, with other companies such as Amazon.com Inc., Walmart Inc., and Microsoft Corp. also signing agreements with Constellation and other nuclear power producers.

Meta Platforms boosted its capital spending outlook and announced plans for a new class of nonvoting stock, escalating its already-stratospheric bet on artificial intelligence. Capital expenditures will be $135 billion to $145 billion in 2026, the social-media giant said during its quarterly earnings report Wednesday, raising the bottom end of the range from $130 billion. The moves show that Meta has confidence that its spending on artificial intelligence will bear fruit. Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg has struggled to persuade investors to accept the company’s ballooning expenses for ambitious AI bets. But in recent months, Meta has made headway with its technology. Meta shares rose in after-hours trading on Wednesday. They had gained about 6% this year through the close in New York.
