Show Notes
With the sad news that the former City manager Kevin Keegan has died at the age of 75, David Mooney is joined by City fans Liam Wright and Andy MacNab to discuss his legacy at the club. After taking over in 2001, he led City to promotion from the second tier in style, setting a club record points total and equalling the record for the number of goals City had scored in a single season.
In the final season at Maine Road and City's first back in the Premier League, he led the club to a ninth-placed finish and brought European football back to the blue half of Manchester, via the UEFA Fair Play league, as he oversaw the move to what's now the Etihad Stadium.

More from Blue Moon Podcast - A Manchester City Show
Following the comprehensive 5-1 win over AEK Athens, David Mooney is joined by Simon Bajkowski from the Manchester Evening News and City fan Ciaran Murray. They discuss the rotated team’s performance, the cheekiness of Rayan Cherki, and the quality on show from Phil Foden.
After the 3-2 win over Ipswich, Enzo Maresca became the first new manager of a club to win their opening seven Premier League games. David Mooney is joined by City fans Ally Fogg and Chris Higginbottom to discuss the performance on Saturday, plus to look at how well the Maresca is doing given everything that's happening at the club right now.
David Mooney is joined by City fans Richard Burns and Sam Rosbottom to discuss everything that happened in the very exciting (but ultimately fruitless) Champions League tie with Paris Saint Germain. What went wrong for City to be 3-0 down in around half an hour, but what changed to produce a spirited second-half fightback that probably didn't get the rewards it deserved?
After a few weeks of off-the-field pressure following the guilty verdict in the Premier League charges, Manchester City returned to action with a 3-0 win at Anfield. David Mooney is joined by Paul Hirst from The Times and City fan Luke Stanley from the MCFC Lads podcast and socials to discuss the performance and the circumstances around the game at Liverpool.
Ahead of the trip to Liverpool in the first game since the verdict from the independent commission was announced, David Mooney is joined by City fan Liam Wright and, from Sporting News, Dom Farrell to discuss what the match is going to look like. Neil Atkinson from The Anfield Wrap joins the show to give his thoughts, with lots of questions about whether the off-the-pitch story will affect what happens during the 90 minutes.
