Episode 111: Suicide Silence – The OG Kings of Deathcore
The OG Kings of Deathcore are in the spotlight as we dive into Riverside’s finest... Suicide Silence!
From the legendary, genre-defining era of Mitch Lucker (R.I.P.), to the crushing reinvention with Hernan "Eddie" Hermida, to Chris Garza's massive platform with the Garza Podcast, we break down the riffs, the legacy, and why these guys are permanent City Council members of the Chug District in Riff City.
In this episode, we break down: • The Mitch Lucker Era: The raw energy, legendary vocals, and groundbreaking impact of The Cleansing and No Time to Bleed. • The Eddie Hermida Transition: How the band pushed forward, reinvented their sound, and maintained their ferocious live presence. • The Garza Factor: Chris Garza’s role in holding down the rhythm section and building one of extreme music's top podcast platforms. • The Chug District Legacy: Why Suicide Silence remains the ultimate blueprint for modern Deathcore and Heavy Metal subgenres.
