Show Notes
This is a Funky House mix from 2018 titled Bionic Boogie, built as a summer-ready blend of Nu Disco, Gospel House, Soulful House, funk and re-worked disco classics. The set was surgically trimmed from more than two hours to a focused 80 minutes, and you’ll notice a deliberate shift in mood after the third track to keep the flow engaging and surprising.
Highlights include ATFC feat. Lisa Millett’s Dr. Packer remix of “Bad Habit,” a reworked take on Disco Incorporated’s “Freedom,” and club-minded turns from The Cube Guys & David Penn and a Rob Hardt extension of Lisa Stansfield’s “Never Ever.” The mix also drops in Peggy Gou’s “It Makes You Forget” and a disco revival from Todd Terry with Martha Wash and Jocelyn Brown, balancing vocal heat with groove-led instrumentals.
If you like concise, dancefloor-friendly mixes that nod to classic disco while leaning modern, Bionic Boogie keeps momentum without overstaying its welcome and leaves room for a possible deeper “Trash Disco” follow-up.
