Show Notes
Neighbors, what’s up?! We’ve got Janelle James pulling up to the house, and it’s exactly the energy you think it’s going to be!Janelle gets into the work behind bringing Ava Coleman to life and how that character has evolved over time. She talks about getting more comfortable with the love that comes from being recognized, and what it’s been like watching audiences really connect with the show. She also talks about her approach to creating new stand-up material, why she’s been sitting on a comedy special deal for years, and why she won’t move forward unless the material really feels right. We also dig into why Abbott Elementary has real staying power, the intention behind the writing, and why Quinta Brunson is such a force. Janelle shares why not everyone’s path looks the same, and why that’s more than okay!Show our girl Janelle some love in the comments, friends!
