The better opportunity may come from knowing where buyers have already shown they are willing to step in.This is the key idea behind using support and resistance, order blocks, and price action when deciding whether to buy the dip.SOFI provides a powerful example. After running into an old resistance level created by trapped buyers, the stock fell roughly 54%. Later, previously established support became an area where buyers stepped back in. These levels are not random lines on a chart. They can reveal where buyers and sellers have historically been active. That matters with major stocks such as NVIDIA, Intel, Google, Meta, Qualcomm, Dell, Lam Research, Applied Materials, Amazon, Tesla, and SanDisk. Several have experienced large selloffs, but a big decline alone is not a reason to buy. Before buying the dip, look for support.Order blocks, also called Outlier Blocks, can identify areas where buyers or sellers previously showed significant interest. When price returns to one of these levels, watch what happens. If buyers step in and the stock starts turning higher, you have evidence that the level may be working. If price cuts straight through support, there is no strategic advantage to buying simply because the stock is down. The goal is not to catch the exact bottom. You don't know the future. The goal is to wait for the dip to stop dipping and let price show you that buyers are actually taking control. We also look at why older order blocks can carry more weight than newer ones, how trapped buyers can create future resistance, and how these levels can remain useful as price moves forward.✅ How to buy the dip without catching a falling knife✅ Support and resistance levels that matter✅ Order Blocks and Outlier Blocks✅ NVIDIA, Intel, Google, Meta, Tesla, Qualcomm and more✅ How to wait for buyers and price action to confirm a reversalBuying the dip isn't the problem. During one major move, the stock gained 118%, or roughly $31,600 on 100 shares. But continuously buying puts to protect those gains could have cost around $5,000, reducing the overall gain by roughly 16%. The problem with hedging is that you're paying for insurance while waiting for something to happen that may never happen. So how do you protect yourself from a stock market crash without constantly paying for insurance?Use the market's own signals. The 10/20/50 EMA strategy provides a simple way to identify trend direction. When the 10 EMA is above the 20 EMA and price is above the 50 EMA, the direction is bullish. When those relationships reverse, the direction is bearish. This doesn't predict the magnitude or duration of a move, but it gives you an objective way to recognize when the trend is changing. The important part is that you don't have to predict the top. You can let the stock continue higher while the trend remains bullish, then get out when the evidence shows that the trend is turning. AMD provides a real example of how this approach can avoid giving away gains through unnecessary hedging. The final piece is trading psychology. You have to stop trying to tell the market what you want it to do and start listening to what the market is actually telling you. SOFI shows what can happen when traders let their conviction and ego override deteriorating price action and moving average signals. The goal isn't to eliminate risk. You can't. The goal is to manage risk so you can stay in the market when trends are working and get out of the way when they aren't.✅ Why continuously hedging trades can reduce your gains✅ 10 EMA, 20 EMA, and 50 EMA trend strategy✅ How to protect your portfolio from a stock market crash✅ AMD and SOFI trading examples✅ Trading psychology, ego, and knowing when to exitI'm currently long the market, but I'm not hedging the position. If the market continues higher, I'll stay with the trend. If the market turns lower, I'll follow my trading plan and get out of the way.Subscribe to OVTLYR for disciplined trading strategies that actually make sense. 👉 https://www.youtube.com/@ovtlyrdotcom#StockMarket #SwingTrading #OVTLYR #Hedging #RiskManagement #AMD #SOFI #TradingStrategy #EMA #TechnicalAnalysis #TradingPsychologyHere's how we plan to DOMINATE the US Investing Championship for 2026You can see our step by step trading plan developed by a team of over 20 quants for FREE by clicking here: https://www.ovtlyr.com/usicplan
