Welcome to another Journeys into Wild Space episode! This week we're incredibly excited to welcome the absolutely brilliant performer and all-round beautiful human Katy Kartwheel onto Sisters of the Force. We were lucky enough to meet her at Force Fest UK in Cheltenham earlier this year, and we're so grateful she agreed to come and chat to us about all things creatures and droids, from Hurid-327 (The Force Awakens) to the Caretakers (The Last Jedi), and our favourite Ardennian Rio Durant (Solo: A Star Wars Story). In the conversation Katy goes deep into what it takes to put together a physical performance in feature films on the scale of Star Wars, the collaborative work across multiple departments, the physical (and mental) demands of the roles, and the different directorial styles she got to experience. We also delve into her career as a circus performer and the fascinating work she does teaching circus arts and exploring circus skills as a therapeutic tool. Thank you so much Katy for coming on the pod and being so generous with your knowledge, stories and experiences!

You can find Katy at https://www.circuspassion.co.uk/, or follow her on Instagram and TikTik @katykartwheel, and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/katykartwheelcircuspassion.

We got to have a fantastic chat with Dave from Thank the Maker : The Journey Behind The Star Wars Stories, who told us all about the fabulous sounding Rogue One - 10 Years anniversary event which is happening on Saturday October 17th 2026 at St. Swithun's School near Winchester in the south of England. The celebration promises to be incredible, with an ever-growing, epic list of guest panelists who all played pivotal roles behind the scenes of Rogue One, and/or Andor (see what we did there?!).
