Whether it's securing rooms that match lucky numbers or ensuring that jerseys remain unwashed for good luck, Hilton emphasizes its commitment to hospitality that aligns with fans' superstitions.
In a separate discussion, Dr. Ken Berry interviews Gary Taubes about his new book, "Rethinking Diabetes." Taubes critiques the current approach to diabetes management, which heavily relies on medications rather than dietary changes. He highlights a significant increase in diabetes cases over the past decades, despite advancements in drug therapies, suggesting that the focus on pharmaceuticals has overshadowed the importance of diet in managing the disease.
Taubes delves into the historical context of diabetes treatment, noting that past dietary recommendations have often contradicted the physiological needs of patients. He argues that the medical community has failed to adapt its guidelines based on emerging evidence, leading to a cycle of ineffective treatment strategies. The conversation underscores the need for a paradigm shift in how diabetes is understood and managed, advocating for a return to dietary approaches that prioritize low carbohydrate intake.
