Broadway Is My Beat presents “The Celia Jordan Murder Case,” originally broadcast on CBS on July 24, 1950. Episode 44 stars Larry Thor as hard-boiled Broadway detective Danny Clover, with Charles Calvert as Sgt. Gino Tartaglia. Written by Morton Fine and David Friedkin, the program was produced and directed by Elliott Lewis.
In a sweltering Manhattan summer, Clover is summoned to Celia Jordan’s ransacked apartment, where bloodstains and conflicting stories suggest that the missing woman’s closest acquaintances may know more than they admit. A telephone call from Celia sends the investigation toward former suitor Cliff Moore and businessman Paul Chelsea, amid the heat and shadows of Broadway.
