SoundtrackerShow Notes
Today on Soundtracker, I'm joined by historian, author, and Professor of History at Princeton Kevin M. Kruse (@KevinMKruse on Twitter and kevinmkruse.bsky.social over on Blue Sky) to talk about Edgar Wright's musical-action-ballet BABY DRIVER. And we're changing up the format a little on this one, since the music is so crucial to the movie. So join us, as we talk about the care and thought put into the choreography of every action scene, how Wright's on-the-nose music cues in certain scenes a...

Rob Rousseau (@robrousseau) is joining me once again to talk about my favorite movie of all time, 1978's DAWN OF THE DEAD. In this episode we talk a lot about malls, consumerism, Romero's politics, and the great score by Goblin. I just want to make this very clear up front, this is not a cheat episode. There is an actual soundtrack for this movie, and it's supposed to be Josh's mixtape he's listening to on his headphones. I've always been fascinated by this one, and I'm excited to get to it. With that out of the way... Hey everyone! It's my favorite time of the year, Halloween! And it's time for a new slate of horror films for the show. Up first is one of my all-time favorite horror movies, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. A...
Today I'm joined by long-time friend, former Jeopardy contestant, and veterinarian Mark Primiano (@doctor1hundred.bsky.social) to talk about THE WARRIORS, one of the all-time cool movies. Did you know COBRA had a soundtrack? Well, neither did I, but thankfully it did, because it was a perfect excuse to get fan-favorites L Ron Mexico and Plexico Gingrich on again. Oh, and did you know L Ron has a new podcast called No Homework? You should, because he's a cohost with recent guests Patrick Cosmos and Charles Star. This was, as always, a blast to talk about with these guys. Check out No Homework here: https://nohomework.website/?synced=1 Support the show on Patreon! It's the...
Once again I'm joined by David Roth and Charles Star, and this time we're tackling some Michael Mann, with his divisive 2006 movie MIAMI VICE. In this episode, which is almost as long as the movie, we talk about the movie, the soundtrack, and whatever else we wanted to talk about. It's a chaotic episode and I wouldn't have it any other way. You can't fight gravity, just like you can't fight listening to this episode. Check out No Homework here: https://nohomework.website/?synced=1 Check out D...
