Show Notes
Episode 98 is out now and I’m joined by Amelia Bayler!
Amelia is a comedian, Punk Singer, Only Friends model and is basically an utter joy to be around.
Amelia had appeared on the podcast before to discuss her passion for Mnistry of Sound compilations, but for her return she’s chosen an indie sleaze classic, Uffie’s Sex Dress and Denim Jeans!
This is a fun episode as we discuss, preserving club culture, millennial fashion disasters, tent based romance at Bennicassim 2012 and the power of Uffie’s iconic saxophone solos.
Best enjoyed while wearing American Apparel and 6 glow sticks.
“THIS Album…” is the podcast where each episode a guest and I deep dive an album that they have an emotional attachment to, one that captures a particular moment in their life. And we have a proper laugh while doing it. Rather than talking guitar pedals and snare drum recording techniques, I want to hear how bad someone’s haircut was when they discovered an album, who broke their heart and what questionable denim they were wearing. The show reached #1 on Spotify’s Music Podcast Chart and continues to build a highly engaged social audience, with clips from the podcast generating over 1 million views on Instagram in June 2026 alone

"The very first “post-surf” band. This London four-piece (extended to five on stage) was formed in 2021 when Connie came to London from France and met Archie (bass) from Worcester and Steve (guitar) from York. They blended their influences so seamlessly that they had to invent an actual genre to describe their sound. “Post-surf” is a pun to the “post-punk” dominion over the London scene of the past decade, alluding to the twist operated by these boys: post-modern themes in their lyrics and reflections on the chaos of modern life, but the warm and soothing sun of 60s California on the surface, embodied by their trademark four-part harmonies, surf guitars, and inexplicably strange chords. Their first album, a series of haunting ballads expunged in an effort to shave down their growing catalog, was released in 2025. “Poorly Planned Missions… Executed Worse” features ten tracks dripping with the band’s sonic identity and commitment to writing a song that sounds like it could never be written twice. Having opened for acts like The Big Pink and The Molotovs, they are gearing up for the release of the much louder follow-up to their debut, a cinematic whirlpool of indie bangers, introduced by their brand new single ‘Neverknows’.”
