Conor Mortimer: The journey from a Youth Star to an All-Star

Title: Our guest this week is Mayo Football star, Conor Mortimer.

Throughout the episode, Conor speaks about his passion for the game that runs strongly through his family. Mortimer takes us through his years in the underage Mayo set-up, from Minor to u-21s. He shines a light on some of the set-backs he encountered throughout his career, offering advice to the next generation of Minor players.

Conor reminisces on his bold and brilliant career, an injury along the way and the psychological support offered by Mayo GAA. He recalls his iconic Michael Jackson moment, his Sigerson Cup days and discusses Mayo’s long drought of an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship title.

Every Tuesday, well known Irish stars will share memories from their early sporting careers and reflect on the defining moments from playing Minor and how that shaped them both on and off the pitch.
