"You need to cry. You need to grieve... It’s really healing is what it is.” This week, I crack open a can of Tab Cola and bring on my first LA friend, Matt Chamberlin (@mrchamberlin), to swap stories of childhood shame and discuss our difficulties expressing emotions. After a supremely difficult year and a half with a lot of tears, Matt and I talk about crying and how it was modeled for us growing up. We also bond over our favorite Ninja Turtle and keeping our passions secret, as we both learned early that it wasn't cool for boys to care. Matt and I share our common experiences with baseball and when we started to overthink, while highlighting the importance of adult role models to light the way. This one's for you, Mr. Hatchimonji.
