Show Notes

WabiSabi | A Japanese Philosophy of Perfect Imperfection Taoism for Inner Peace (book): https://einzelganger.co/tao/The pursuit of perfection has become the norm in today’s world, where chronic dissatisfaction, burnout, depression, and anxiety reign supreme. We’ve subjected ourselves to unrealistic standards and rigorously chase an ideal that’s impossible to reach.Advertisements show us snapshots of handsome people enjoying their favorite drink dancing among a crowd of fashion models with eversmiling faces. This uncompromising image of perfect happiness yells at us: “This is how your life should be.” And so, we try to mimic the sublimity of a lifestyle ideal. We spend fortunes on tweaking ourselves, our lives, our environment and then flood social media with pictures and videos to show the world the exquisiteness of our lives. Perfection is what we need to accomplish: a perfectly symmetrical face, a perfectly sculpted body, perfect hair, skin, jawline, house, friends, family, partner, children, vacations, or in short: an existence without fault. But this isn’t only impossible and exhausting to pursue; it’s also unnatural as far as the Japanese world view of wabisabi is concerned.Wabisabi rejects the pursuit of perfection and embraces the reality of imperfection. The philosophy behind wabisabi can help us escape the hamster wheel of chasing an ideal life and teaches us to appreciate existence as it is: perfectly imperfect.Support the channel: ✔️ PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/einzelgangerco ✔️ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/einzelgangster ✔️ Bitcoin: 3HQnEz1LQ4G6dqN2LdZgzc7qoJjJCyWjTC (Donated BTC and want in the credits? When Life Disappoints You, Don’t Disappoint Life For many, the disappointments of life justify destructive behaviors towards oneself and others. Entitlement to what they feel they deserve, or what others have and they have not, leads to disappointment if reality doesn’t provide them with what they expect. And thus, they feel wronged. In a way, life has betrayed us. From the day we were born, it has sold us false expectations of sunshine, served us utter lies on a golden platter, and then slaps us in the face with indifference after we see our dreams perish, one by one. Instead of the paradise we’ve built in our minds, we encounter wastelands of cold, harsh, lifeasitis: of randomness, of meaninglessness, of absurdity. So, this is it? Maybe. And it may get even worse, looking at the transient nature of life, showing us that decay, sickness, and death await us. But how can we deal with a life that only seems to give us lemons? How to go on when fate has killed our hopes and dreams, and all that’s left is hopelessness?Support the channel: ✔️ PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/einzelgangerco ✔️ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/einzelgangster ✔️ Bitcoin: 3HQnEz1LQ4G6dqN2LdZgzc7qoJjJCyWjTC (Donated BTC and want in the credits? The Benefits of Ignoring People Sometimes, by ignoring people, we do ourselves a great favor. Moreover, I’d say that ignoring people from time to time is necessary to keep our sanity in a world that constantly tries to grasp our attention.Video: The Benefits of Ignoring PeopleSupport the channel: ✔️ PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/einzelgangerco ✔️ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/einzelgangster ✔️ Bitcoin: 3HQnEz1LQ4G6dqN2LdZgzc7qoJjJCyWjTC (Donated BTC and want in the credits? At first glance, looksmaxxing seems like little more than internet slang for improving one’s appearance. But when we dive deeper, we find ideas and beliefs that are pretty disturbing. What draws young men (such as Clavicular) to looksmaxxing? What do they believe? Does it make their lives better? Just Let Go | The Philosophy of Fight Club Check the second Fight Club essay: https://youtu.be/ER69AuimtOQLife is short. It’s ending one minute at a time. Why waste it on fulfilling other people’s expectations? This is just one of those questions presented in a novel written by Chuck Palahniuk named Fight Club. The film version of Fight Club directed by David Fincher, starring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter, could be considered one of the best and most impactful movies ever made when looking at its reception and ongoing popularity.Fight Club isn’t shy of overthetop violence, contains a fair amount of explicit language, and, of course, the obnoxious behavior of its characters. However, it’s definitely more profound than just men coming together to beat each other up.The story is built on several thoughtful concepts that are interesting and possibly applicable to our own lives. It tells a story about a generation of people without a clear purpose, without hope, raised with false expectations, and repressed by evertightening social norms. What if our existence is pointless? What if God doesn’t like us? What if we’re nothing more than a compost heap? How do we find meaning in a meaningless existence? This video explores several philosophical ideas that Fight Club presents us. For those who aren’t familiar with the story: this analysis explains and reveals the plot.Support the channel: ✔️ PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/einzelgangerco ✔️ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/einzelgangster ✔️ Bitcoin: 3HQnEz1LQ4G6dqN2LdZgzc7qoJjJCyWjTC (Donated BTC and want in the credits?
