Javon, Lurch, and I took a couple of days away from the Law Abiding Biker Store and took a team ride. In addition to taking a break to ride, I wanted to put my new 2026 Indian Roadmaster with the PowerPlus motor to the test. Javon rode our loaner 2025 Indian Roadmaster, also with a PowerPlus motor. We road to LaGrande, Oregon and then did the Hell's Canyon Loop Ride. It's an epic ride and we highly recommend you take it. There will be a video of our trip coming to the Law Abiding Biker YouTube Channel in the near future. Listen to our review of the New Indian Roadmaster. Hell's Canyon Loop Rever Map SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE The 2026 Indian Roadmaster PowerPlus brings an impressive combination of American touring luxury, modern technology, and serious V-twin performance to the heavyweight motorcycle market. At the heart of this touring machine is Indian's liquid-cooled, 112-cubic-inch (1,834cc) PowerPlus engine, producing an impressive 126 horsepower and 133 ft-lbs of torque straight from the factory. Unlike traditional air-cooled, pushrod V-twins, the PowerPlus features overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder, delivering strong acceleration, responsive throttle performance, and plenty of passing power at highway speeds. The six-speed transmission, inverted front forks, Brembo brakes, and electronically adjustable rear suspension preload further enhance the riding experience. With three selectable ride modes—Rain, Standard, and Sport—the Roadmaster allows riders to tailor engine response to their riding conditions. Indian's 7-inch RIDE COMMAND touchscreen provides navigation, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, and motorcycle information, while available PowerBand Audio delivers a powerful 600-watt sound system. The PowerPlus 112 models also feature advanced rider-assistance technology, including blind-spot warnings, rear collision warnings, bike hold control, electronically linked brakes, and lean-sensitive traction control and ABS. Harley-Davidson has officially announced it will end its factory racing program in MotoAmerica's King of the Baggers series following the 2026 season, and the news has sparked plenty of controversy throughout the motorcycle community. After six seasons of intense competition against Indian Motorcycle, Harley-Davidson is shifting its racing strategy toward the FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup and new grassroots racing opportunities. Some fans are claiming Harley is walking away because Indian dominated the 2026 season, but is that really the case? The facts tell a different story. Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle each captured three championships over six seasons, and Harley actually announced its plans for the Bagger World Cup back in 2025, the same year it won the King of the Baggers championship. In this episode of the Law Abiding Biker Podcast, we break down Harley's decision, examine the history of King of the Baggers, and discuss why this move could represent a significant shift in the future of performance bagger racing. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE The King of the Baggers series began as a single race at Laguna Seca in 2020 and quickly exploded into one of the most exciting forms of American motorcycle racing. What started with heavily modified Harley-Davidson and Indian touring motorcycles evolved into a fiercely competitive championship featuring race bikes producing more than 190 horsepower and reaching speeds exceeding 185 mph. Along the way, the competition helped drive innovation in performance motorcycle parts and inspired production models such as the Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide ST and Indian Challenger RR. Now, Harley-Davidson is focusing its factory racing efforts on the international Bagger World Cup, a spec racing series held during MotoGP weekends where competitors race identically prepared Harley-Davidson Road Glides. The format puts greater emphasis on rider skill, setup, and strategy while providing Harley-Davidson an opportunity to develop performance technology and Screamin' Eagle components for everyday riders. We discuss the potential benefits of racing on a global stage, the financial questions surrounding Harley's decision, and MotoAmerica's disappointment with the timing of the announcement. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! So, what happens to King of the Baggers in 2027 and beyond? Indian Motorcycle will remain the only factory-backed manufacturer, with championship riders Hayden Gillim and Troy Herfoss returning to defend their success. Privateer teams will still be able to compete on Harley-Davidson Road Glides and Indian Challengers, but the absence of Harley's factory team raises serious questions about the future competitiveness and popularity of the series. We also discuss what could be next for Harley-Davidson racers Kyle Wyman and Bradley Smith, whether the Bagger World Cup will continue growing internationally, and how this decision could affect the motorcycle aftermarket. While we're disappointed to see the legendary Harley-Davidson versus Indian factory rivalry come to an end, we believe there's much more to this story than the divisive reactions circulating online. Whether you ride a Harley, Indian, or another motorcycle, we're all part of the same biker community. Join us as we separate fact from speculation, share our predictions for the 2027 racing season, and ask the big question: Can King of the Baggers survive without Harley-Davidson's factory racing team? In this episode, Ryan takes us behind the scenes of his trip to Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, with Indian Motorcycle for an unforgettable weekend of MotoAmerica racing. Ryan shares what it was like experiencing the event as a guest of Indian Motorcycle, getting an up-close look at the factory racing operation, spending time around the Indian team, and watching some of the fastest bagger motorcycles in the world attack one of America's premier road-racing circuits. We talk about the overall COTA experience and what motorcycle racing looks and feels like when you're able to get closer to the teams, riders, and machines. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE Of course, the big story at COTA was the 2026 MotoAmerica Mission King of the Baggers Championship. Indian Motorcycle factory rider Hayden Gillim arrived in Texas with an opportunity to wrap up the title early, and that's exactly what happened. Gillim captured his eighth victory of the season in Race 1 aboard the Vance & Hines-built Indian Challenger, setting a new King of the Baggers single-season win record. A second-place finish in Race 2 was enough to clinch the 2026 championship with one round remaining. Gillim also made history by becoming the first rider to win King of the Baggers championships for two different manufacturers. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! From Ryan's firsthand experience with Indian Motorcycle at COTA to the factory rivalry between the Indian Challenger and Harley-Davidson Road Glide, we cover the people, motorcycles, racing, and stories that made the 2026 season one to remember. King of the Baggers continues to transform heavyweight American touring motorcycles into legitimate road-racing machines, and the competition between Indian Motorcycle, Harley-Davidson, Vance & Hines, Dynojet, and some of the world's best motorcycle racers keeps pushing the class forward. If you're a Harley or Indian rider, or simply love high-performance American V-twin motorcycles this episode gives you our perspective on the 2026 MotoAmerica King of the Baggers season and Ryan's inside look at racing at Circuit of the Americas. Harley-Davidson has added two very different, but distinctly old-school, motorcycles to its 2026 lineup with the new Deadwood and the return of the legendary Super Glide. Both bikes lean heavily into Harley-Davidson history while combining that styling with the modern Softail platform, Milwaukee-Eight power, selectable ride modes, and current rider-safety technology. The Deadwood is an entirely new name inspired by the stripped-down motorcycles and independent riders associated with the post-World War II era and the Black Hills, while the Super Glide brings back one of the most recognizable names in Harley history. In this episode of the Law Abiding Biker™ Podcast, we break down both motorcycles, what makes them unique, and where they fit in Harley-Davidson's evolving cruiser lineup. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE The 2026 Harley-Davidson Deadwood may be the more interesting of the two because Harley has given it a personality unlike anything else currently in the cruiser lineup. Finished in Denim Black with orange tank graphics, the Deadwood is blacked out from the front end and controls to the engine, exhaust, and tank console. A solo tuck-and-roll seat, smoked chopped windshield, clean fenders, black tubeless laced wheels, and a shortened rear monoshock create its low, slammed appearance. Underneath the vintage-inspired styling is a Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic engine, five-gallon fuel tank, selectable ride modes, and Harley-Davidson Rider Safety Enhancements. Harley says the inspiration goes back to riders who stripped unnecessary parts from their motorcycles after World War II, while the Deadwood name and marketing tie the motorcycle directly to Sturgis and the Black Hills. U.S. MSRP starts at $17,999. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! The 2026 Super Glide, meanwhile, reaches even deeper into Harley-Davidson history. Fifty-five years after the original 1971 FX Super Glide helped establish the factory-custom concept, Harley has revived the name with a motorcycle designed to immediately remind riders of Willie G. Davidson's original creation. White Onyx Pearl paint, stretched vintage FX tank graphics with red-and-blue striping, extensive chrome, tubeless laced wheels, chrome mini-ape handlebars, mid controls, and a five-gallon teardrop tank deliver the retro look. Power comes from the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic, rated by Harley at 98 horsepower and 120 lb-ft of torque in the U.S. specification. Modern touches include selectable ride modes, rider safety enhancements, an adjustable front brake lever, and traditional-looking tank-mounted instrumentation backed by a multifunction LCD display. What really makes the Super Glide stand apart is its exclusivity. Harley-Davidson is producing just 2,500 individually serialized 2026 Super Glide motorcycles worldwide, with the model introduced as a Special Edition celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. With a U.S. starting MSRP of $15,999, it is also positioned below the Deadwood despite its limited-production status. Together, these two motorcycles show Harley-Davidson taking a decidedly heritage-driven approach: the Deadwood creates a new model around the stripped-down attitude of post-war custom motorcycles and the Black Hills, while the Super Glide resurrects a name and styling cues that helped define factory customization more than half a century ago. On the podcast, we dig into both bikes and discuss whether this blend of Harley history and modern technology is the direction riders have been waiting for. In this episode, I'm joined by Lurch and we talk about the 2026 Indian Roadmaster that was just added to the Law Abiding Biker stable. This isn't my first time in the saddle of an Indian. Long-time viewers of my YouTube Channel will remember I ran a Pursuit PowerPlus for about a year, followed by a loaned 2025 Indian Roadmaster PowerPlus last fall, a bike I still have on hand. Both of those were loaner relationships, which is exactly why this 2026 Roadmaster means something different: it's the first Indian Motorcycle that's actually mine. I've also attended multiple Indian Motorcycle press events to test ride and review other motorcycles and those are also on my YouTube Channel. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE I want to remind newer viewers what's always set Law Abiding Biker apart: I'm independent. I don't work for any motorcycle manufacturer — I work for myself and for you, the riding community. That means every video, including this one, comes with the same honest treatment: what I like right out of the box, and just as importantly, the small things that could be improved as I rack up miles. Owning this bike now, rather than borrowing it, means I can go further than ever — full customization, long-term testing, and an ongoing series of ride and review videos as the PowerPlus Dark Horse gets broken in. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! True to form, I wasted no time getting the rider triangle set up before the bike's even been started. First up was pulling the reflectors — step one on basically every bike that rolls into my shop. From there: Ciro drink holder — available in black or chrome, installed here using the perch mount (swapping the factory half-clamp for hardware and a ball head), with a universal bar mount option also available for those who don't want to swap the factory clamp bolts. Biker Gripper phone mount — my own cell phone mount, made in the USA and sold exclusively through the Law Abiding Biker Store. It's rated for 18 lbs of grip strength, needs no proprietary case, fits the largest of smartphones out there, has built-in vibration dampening, and switches between vertical and horizontal on the fly. I'm running the perch-mount version on this bike, with universal bar mount options also available. Figurati magnetic engine oil dipstick — going on right away. The Law Abiding Biker Store is the top reseller of these in North America, and for good reason: a 2,000-gauss magnet on the tip pulls ferrous metal and debris out of the oil that a filter alone won't catch, so I can pull it anytime and check what's happening inside the motor. Available in stainless steel, black, knurled, and curved styles. Exhaust — multiple options are already on the way for me to test on the PowerPlus 112, with reviews to follow.
