Show Notes
Ngaio is a force to be reckoned with. More than just a singer, this powerhouse of a performer can switch from a killer DJ set to delivering intricate jazz harmonies with a voice that could have stepped out of the 1940s, to heart hitting spoken word. Born in London, now living in Bristol, Ngaio has been skating across musical scene since she could walk. As well as being musical director of Bristol’s Bass Choir, she has been organising and promoting events since setting up of her own night, Booty Bass, in 2018 to provide a platform for female DJ’s. Ngaio’s versatility as an artist has seen her moving audiences to standing ovations with a soul striking vocals, spark tears though truth laden lyrics, destroy dance floors with selections old and new taking crowds on a journey of nostalgia and discovery. She's DJ'd at festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown, Secret Garden Party, Love Saves The Day, Tokyo World.

NGAIO says, 'This mix is a snapshot into my open format style, my love of music from around the world and tracks which make you feel good about yourself and let loose. Especially inspired by the tracks that have been going off this festival season, there are some of my favourites played at Bristol Pride, Womad, Shambala and Forwards Festival. It also contains all the tracks from my most recent EP Four Quarters Remixed which was me remixing my original tracks from Four Quarters to give them a DJ friendly edge. I’m founder of Booty Bass CIC, put together to uplift Black, Queer Female and Gender Expansive individuals. We’ve been running events and taking up space for over 8 years and I’m very excited to share this mix through Sisu who align with all our values.'
