In this beneficial lesson, Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan presents a powerful explanation of the classical work Usul al-Tafsir, authored by the eminent scholar Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen. This text is considered one of the most important introductions to the principles of Qur’anic interpretation, equipping the student of knowledge with the correct methodology for understanding the speech of Allah.

Throughout this explanation, Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan walks the viewer through the foundational rules scholars use when interpreting the Qur’an — clarifying how the Qur’an is explained by the Qur’an itself, by the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, by the understanding of the Companions, and by the Arabic language in which it was revealed. The lesson highlights the precision and clarity of Shaykh Ibn al-Uthaymeen’s scholarship, demonstrating how the scholars preserved the meanings of revelation and protected it from misinterpretation and innovation.

Students of knowledge, seekers of guidance, and anyone wishing to deepen their relationship with the Qur’an will find this explanation both illuminating and transformative — especially during the blessed days and nights of Ramadan, when believers turn their hearts back to the Book of Allah. This session is part of a wider effort to reconnect Muslims with the authentic methodology of the scholars in understanding the Qur’an — a methodology rooted in revelation, scholarship, and the understanding of the righteous predecessors.

Watch, benefit, and share so others can learn the foundations of Tafsir and approach the Qur’an with knowledge, clarity, and reverence.
