On March 2, 2011, Shahbaz Bhatti a devout Catholic and Pakistani politician was murdered by the Taliban. But his life and legacy are much greater than his passing from this world because he is a hero that all of us should look up to and imitate. In this episode, we are joined by three guests. Knox Thames who is a personal friend of Shahbaz and his family and served as the State Department Special Advisor for Religious Minorities under both President Obama and President Trump. His personal account of Shahbaz’s character and work form the basis of the graphic novel “Blood and Water” which retells the life and witness of this great man. We are also joined by the writer (Matt Yocum) and illustrator (Jordan Holt) of “Blood and Water.” Matt has worked on several projects for Marvel comics and beautifully tells the story of Shahbaz from his childhood until after his death. Jordan also speaks about the creative process and how he immersed himself in the Pakistani culture in order to present it both accurately and artistically.
