The Twenties Detox

I graduated and everything fell apart. Here's what I learned 5 years later.

Show Notes

If you clicked on this, you already know why. 🩵 Five years ago, I graduated with a degree in Forensic Science and knew almost immediately that it wasn't the path for me. So I moved back home, and spent the next 2-3 years rediscovering myself. My passions. What actually made me feel alive. It was messy. It was uncomfortable. And nobody really talks about that part too much. The Twenties Detox started as a simple blog post during that season, and slowly became something so much more. This video is my attempt to make you feel a little less alone. To be the big sister who sits across from you and says: you are not behind. You are not failing. Everything IS and WILL be okay. Sending you so much love.xoxo, B

Autumn is almost always at the top of the list when I ask people where I live what their favourite season is. And honestly, I understand why. Ontario in the fall is breathtaking.

Grief is one of those things that changes shape all the time.

Autumn isn’t asking us to stop, it’s asking us to listen. Turn inward, and reflect.

As the days get shorter and the shadows outside become a little more visible, autumn invites us to look inward, too. There’s something about this season that naturally brings our own shadows to the surface: the parts of ourselves we might avoid, the mistakes we still carry, and the feeling that we should be further along than we are. In this episode, we’re talking about the feeling of not being enough, learning to forgive ourselves for the things we wish we had done differently, and accepting ourselves for where we are right now, even when it isn’t where we ultimately want to be. Because when we’re constantly living in the past or reaching toward the future, we miss the only place where we can actually create change: the present moment. Think of this as your autumn reminder to slow down, meet yourself where you are, and make a little more peace with the person you’re becoming. 🩵
