More from be-teachable
You raise a concern. The conversation becomes uncomfortable. Next time, you think twice before speaking. What happens in that moment can shape far more than one relationship. In this episode of be-teachable, Liz Crowley and I explore how tension between leaders spreads through a business, why people start taking sides, and what gets lost when someone’s perspective stops reaching the room.Drawing on her experience in human resources and people operations, Liz explores how leaders can make honest disagreement possible. Whether you lead a team or have struggled to challenge your manager, the question is familiar: what happens when someone speaks up?Liz Crowley is the founder of HR Collaborative Solutions, with more than 25 years of experience helping leaders navigate difficult workplace relationships. And this episode closes the three-part series with Clara. What I find particularly interesting about her story is how one experience led to another. Learning a new language became an opportunity to teach others. Teaching led her to discover new skills, build a business and eventually reach millions of people. And today, she's using everything she's learned along the way to help other women find their own path. When you listed to her story you realise that Clara didn't have all the answers when she started. She figured things out along the way, often by putting herself in situations where she had no choice but to learn.
When Covid stopped Clara's classes, she didn't have a content strategy, online business or roadmap. She simply started creating material her students needed. That small decision eventually led to courses, a business and an audience of 2.6 million people. We talk about learning because you have to, leaving work that no longer fits, redefining success and why Clara thinks opportunities behave like dominoes. Episode 2 of Learning Without a Map asks a simple question: how much do you really need to know before you begin? Next, we explore visibility, AI and what Clara refuses to automate.
What happens to your personality when you know what you want to say, but don't have the words to say it? Clara and I both moved countries as children, so this conversation became much bigger than language learning. We talk about belonging, confidence, cultural references, making mistakes, learning through curiosity and the years of work people don't see behind becoming fluent.
Last week, Radiana challenged an assumption many of us grow up with: achieve enough first, and happiness will follow. But if happiness doesn't simply happen once we've checked enough boxes, what can we actually do about it? Today we get practical. We talk about self-awareness, energy, relationships, success, social media and the small choices that shape how we experience our lives. And we end where Radiana's own journey ultimately led her: to the idea that happiness isn't simply something you find: it's a skill you can learn.
