We hear a lot about people experiencing “father wounds” but what about those who carry heartache, anger or sorrow because of a wounding mother?
When Dr. Sarita Lyons joined Jackie for the Glory Conference in 2023, an attendee asked about navigating difficult relationships with mothers. Feeling burdened by the Holy Spirit after that interaction and many conversations that followed it, Dr. Sarita has written a book to help people grieve honestly and heal deeply.
Jackie, Preston and Dr. Sarita Lyons discuss what it means to honor your mother while still acknowledging the ways you’ve been hurt. They explore the difference between godly sorrow and condemnation, what it looks like to hold truth and grace together, and how the Gospel offers hope for wholeness.

What do you do with the pain that remains after you’ve forgiven someone?
What does the Bible teach us about aging, and how might our perspective change if we viewed getting older through a theological lens rather than a cultural one?
Pain changes us, and it can make us bitter before it makes us resilient. We can also become more attached to our pain than to our Savior, and that’s idolatry.
Y’all love a “storytime” episode and it’s been a while since the Perrys recorded one.
People say, “We’re more divided than ever before,” but are we okay with that, or are we going to do something about it? Are we normalizing division and disrespecting God by not prioritizing something He does?
