Pain changes us, and it can make us bitter before it makes us resilient. We can also become more attached to our pain than to our Savior, and that’s idolatry.
Toni Collier joins the Perrys to talk about what bitterness looks like and what it means to reckon with our suffering instead of running from it. Toni and Preston discuss their individual experiences with ADHD and how their brains uniquely process trauma and pain. Toni unpacks her experience with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy and how it creates the space to process through hard things. Toni, Jackie and Preston together point to the fact that healing is a communal project – healing requires bringing our suffering to the Lord and to safe people in our lives.

What do you do with the pain that remains after you’ve forgiven someone?
What does the Bible teach us about aging, and how might our perspective change if we viewed getting older through a theological lens rather than a cultural one?
Y’all love a “storytime” episode and it’s been a while since the Perrys recorded one.
We hear a lot about people experiencing “father wounds” but what about those who carry heartache, anger or sorrow because of a wounding mother?
People say, “We’re more divided than ever before,” but are we okay with that, or are we going to do something about it? Are we normalizing division and disrespecting God by not prioritizing something He does?
