Show Notes

This is Automation Unplugged, and I'm Ron Callis. Today I'm speaking with Brian Perreault, a returning guest to the show. He last appeared in December 2020 on episode 150. Brian is President and Owner of Barrett's Technology Solutions, a custom integration firm based in the Chicagoland area with a second location in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Brian joined Barrett's in 1991, and over the past three and a half decades he's worked his way through every level of the company, from selling console TVs on the retail floor to leading Barrett's transformation into one of the region's premier residential technology firms. He became a partner years ago, and in July 2024 he stepped into ownership as President, continuing the legacy that Joe Barrett built over six decades. Brian has also served on the board of HTSA, including two years as board president.

This is Automation Unplugged, and I'm Ron Callis. Today I'm joined by Curtis LeMaster, owner of Control Designer, a custom integration firm based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado that handles control, networking, lighting, shades, and audio for high-end residential projects. Curtis came into this industry in 2000 as a bookkeeper and worked his way into programming, eventually handling AMX systems for professional golfers, rock bands, and an Abu Dhabi prince's private theater. He started Control Designer in 2003, moved the business from Orlando to Colorado in 2015, and today runs a small, deliberately focused shop that takes on a few clients at time.
