Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton was BAD — but is everyone massively overreacting to one Premier League result? Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season against Brighton, but history tells us that one heavy defeat is far from a death sentence in a title race. In this video, I look at the bigger picture surrounding Arsenal’s defeat and why dropping points — and even suffering a heavy loss — happens to Premier League champions. Over the last six completed Premier League seasons, title-winning teams have repeatedly dropped points across numerous games. Liverpool won the Premier League with 99 points in 2019/20 despite losing 3-0 to Watford and later 4-0 to Manchester City. The following season, that Liverpool side were incredibly beaten 7-2 by Aston Villa. Manchester City have had their moments too. Pep Guardiola’s 2020/21 title winners conceded FIVE against Leicester City, lost 2-0 to Tottenham, lost 2-0 to Manchester United and were beaten 3-2 by Brighton — yet still finished the season as Premier League champions. Even Chelsea’s 2016/17 title-winning side suffered a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal. So yes, Arsenal were outplayed by Brighton. It was a poor performance and there are lessons Mikel Arteta has to take from it. But does one horrible afternoon suddenly change what this Arsenal team is capable of? We also discuss one of the biggest questions facing Arsenal: GOALS. Arsenal scored 88 and 91 Premier League goals in 2022/23 and 2023/24, before dropping to 69 in 2024/25 and 70 during last season’s title-winning campaign. Why has the attacking output fallen? Is Arteta becoming too cautious? Or is there naturally a trade-off when you're trying to build one of the strongest defensive teams in football? I also discuss whether Mikel Arteta has somehow become underrated, the criticism that Arsenal “can’t play attacking football”, and the debate surrounding Arsenal’s left wing after the departures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Did Arsenal really sell two left-wingers without replacing them? Christos Tzolis arrived in the summer, while Arteta has also spoken about Eberechi Eze being comfortable operating from the left. One defeat doesn't define a season. The response might. 🔴 Arsenal fans — after the Brighton defeat, are you genuinely worried about this team, YES or NO? Let me know WHY in the comments. 🚨 Arsenal face some HUGE selection dilemmas ahead of their Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest! Who will Mikel Arteta start? Eberechi Eze or Noni Madueke? Jurrien Timber or Ben White? And could these difficult decisions actually be Arsenal's BIGGEST strength in the Premier League title race? 🔴⚪
🚨 William Saliba MISSING from Arsenal's trophy group photo has sparked HUGE speculation online! Is there really a problem behind the scenes at Arsenal? Could Real Madrid be preparing a move for Saliba, or are Arsenal fans reading too much into the situation? 🔴⚪
Arsenal vs Lille in the Champions League is next, but first, we NEED to talk about Arsenal's dramatic comeback victory against Leeds United! Are we witnessing the mentality of Premier League champions, or are there still vulnerabilities in Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side? 🔴⚪
Arsenal are back in Premier League action against Leeds United — and despite the 3-0 defeat to Brighton, there are plenty of reasons to believe things are looking GOOD for Mikel Arteta’s side. In today’s video, we take a closer look at Arsenal’s defence, the latest William Saliba injury update, Ben White’s importance, and the big selection decisions ahead of Arsenal vs Leeds. One of the biggest questions is: what defence should Arsenal start against Leeds? For me, Ben White has become one of the most underappreciated players in this Arsenal team. The defeat to Brighton was the first game this season in which White wasn’t available, and Arsenal suffered their heaviest loss in more than three years. That doesn’t mean one player was responsible — but Ben White’s influence should not be ignored. In the six games White has played this season, Arsenal have conceded just ONE goal. He has also started in some of Arsenal’s biggest results, including wins against Sunderland, Chelsea and Aston Villa, the Champions League victory away at Napoli, and the Community Shield win against Manchester City. His impact isn’t just defensive either. White gives Arsenal balance, control and an attacking relationship down the right-hand side that can be incredibly important to how Arteta wants his team to play. We also discuss the latest William Saliba injury news. There were initial fears Saliba could potentially be sidelined until 2027, but the latest reports suggest Arsenal could receive a major boost, with the French centre-back potentially returning as early as November or December. Could Arsenal’s defensive injury situation actually be improving quicker than expected? There are also some huge selection debates ahead of Leeds: ⚽ Ben White or Jurrien Timber at right-back? ⚽ Riccardo Calafiori or Piero Hincapié at left-back? ⚽ What is Arsenal’s strongest back four when everyone is fit? ⚽ How important is William Saliba to Arsenal’s title challenge? The Brighton defeat has naturally created some concern, but I think it’s important to keep some perspective. Arsenal’s defensive record this season has largely been excellent, and one heavy defeat shouldn’t suddenly erase everything that came before it. Leeds could be the perfect game for Arsenal to respond, restore some defensive control and quieten the noise surrounding the team. The big question now is whether Brighton was simply an outlier — or whether there are defensive issues Arteta needs to fix. Let me know below: 🔥 What back four are YOU starting against Leeds? 👀 White or Timber at right-back? 🤔 Calafiori or Hincapié at left-back? ❤️ How important is Ben White to this Arsenal side? 💪 How big would an early Saliba return be?
