Summary
Alyssa Wong announces an exciting new comic book featuring Starfire, set to be released in April 2027. The story, described as a blend of "Red Sonja meets One Piece," follows Starfire as she leaves Earth to embark on a journey through the galaxy, exploring her relationship with her sister Blackfire. Wong emphasizes the emotional depth of the narrative, aiming to create a compelling mix of heartache and joy as Starfire navigates her complex family dynamics.
Wong expresses her enthusiasm for collaborating with artist Belen Ortega, praising her dynamic and thoughtful work. The comic promises to introduce various new challenges for Starfire, including encounters with space pirates, which will be featured prominently in the first issue. Wong reflects on her personal connection to the character, noting that Starfire's kindness and resilience in the face of adversity have always resonated with her.
As Wong prepares to delve into Starfire's solo adventures, she acknowledges the passionate fanbase surrounding the Teen Titans and expresses her desire to honor that legacy while allowing Starfire to shine independently in her new narrative. The anticipation builds as fans await the release of this fresh take on a beloved character.
