The Dead Ring: Why Room 7 Answered When the Line Was Dead
Cold copper, a dead junction box and three perfect calls: a cut line photographed ninety seconds before a guest swore she'd been talking on it for eleven days. The lineman's image showed the pair stripped, capped and out of service - so how did Patricia Gardner's phone connect flawlessly for calls of 8 to 20 minutes? Which part of the chain explains why only Room 7 rang?
In this episode, we lay out the timeline and technical traces from the morning the technician photographed the dead exterior pair through the fourteen-month investigation that followed, and ask whether the official record ever truly answered the one stubborn question that remained.
