A residential cruise ship sailing around the world only gave its passengers several hours notice to disembark the ship they called home and find another place to live. More than 200 people expected to live on the ‘Odyssey’ for at least another year and a half, many of whom sold their homes and invested hundreds of thousands of dollars to become permanent residents sailing around the world. The company announced it ran out of money for fuel because of rising oil prices due to the Iran war and had no other choice but to suspend operations. Utah officials have announced that DNA has connected serial killer Ted Bundy to the death of an Utah teenager more than 50 years after her naked body was discovered in the woods by a hunter. New technology has finally solved the 1974 brutal murder and sexual assault of 17-year-old Melissa Ann Smith. Smith is the second woman this year investigators have been able to tie to Bundy, who admitted to killing at least 30 women and girls across seven states in the 1970s. Bundy was executed in 1989 for the murders of two sorority sisters at Florida State University, but officials believe he is likely responsible for dozens of other missing women. There is renewed hope now that this new technology may lead to more answers for other victims’ families. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

15 years after 33-year-old mother of three, Michelle Parker went missing, a newly unsealed affidavit reveals just how much damning evidence police have amassed against Parker’s ex-fiancee, Dale Smith Jr. Parker went missing within an hour of their “The People’s Court” episode, where a judge ruled that both parties should split the cost of a missing engagement ring. While Parker’s body has never been found, police now have incriminating cellphone records, text messages, and a lengthy criminal history of domestic violence by Smith that have many asking why it took so long for police to make an arrest.
