Health with Hashimoto’s - Thyroid or Immune Education for Autoimmune Thyroid Disease

Show Notes

You finished the list. You sorted everything into thyroid or immune. And somehow that made it worse, because now you are looking at two full buckets and every single thing in them looks like it should be the thing you do today. So you did nothing. Or you picked five things, went hard, and lasted about eleven days. That is not a discipline problem. Sorting is triage, not treatment. It tells you what to work on first. But nobody ever explains the "first" part, and that gap is where most women get stuck. In this episode I walk through the three rules I use to decide what actually comes next, why the most important thing is almost never the right place to start, and what six winters of working on one single trigger taught me about doing less at a time. What you'll learn

Why "address everything at once" sounds responsible and still falls apart in eleven days Why the thyroid bucket comes first (fatigue, brain fog, cold, and weight resistance show up in both buckets, and you cannot tell them apart through the static) How to pick your first immune bucket step by choosing the cheapest repeatable thing instead of the most dramatic one Why changing five things at once teaches you nothing, even when you feel better The question that replaces "which one is most important" and actually gets you moving

T2 thyroid hormone is being promoted for weight loss, metabolism, and energy. But does the science support the claims? And is T2 something women with Hashimoto's should consider? You've heard of T4 and T3. Maybe even reverse T3. But T2? After seeing two ads promoting T2 supplements, I started digging into the research. In this episode, I'm talking about what T2 actually does, what the research says, and how to evaluate T2 creams and pills before spending your money. Because you're the CEO of your own health. You need more than an exciting sales pitch to make a good decision. Resources mentioned

Is this the winter you finally stay well? Cold, flu, and COVID season is here, and the news is already full of rumors, including talk of a Russian plague. No one knows what's coming, but every winter brings sniffles, GI bugs, and lost days. If you have Hashimoto's, staying well matters even more, because infections of any kind can be one of the triggers for your immune system. Winter wellness with Hashimoto's does not have to be complicated. This episode is a replay of Esther's free Winter Wellness masterclass. It gives you three simple layers to stack, so sick season is not for you. In this episode, you'll learn:

Do you feel worse every fall and can't figure out why? It may be the "October slide." The October slide is not a diagnosis, but it's common enough in autoimmune groups to have a name. If you feel worse every fall, you're not imagining it, and you get to look at why. In episode 220, Esther recaps episode 120 and goes back through the research on seasons and autoimmune conditions. In this episode, you'll learn:

You grind your teeth at night. You bloat after a glass of water. You crave sugar and salt, you are wide awake at 2am, and your labs still come back fine. What if some of that is not your thyroid? Hashimoto's is two things and not one. Medication helps the thyroid side. The immune side is the part that is yours to work on, and part of that work is looking at what else your body is carrying. In episode 219, Kim Rogers (the Worm Queen) teaches you all about parasites and Hashimoto's. If you’re curious but nervous (or grossed out,) this episode breaks down symptoms to watch for, how the kit works, and easy steps to get started.
