Andrew Wins Epstein-Related Court Battle and Gets $400,000 as King Charles Is “Hopping Mad”
Palace Intrigue: Harry, Meghan & the Crown. Royal Family News and Gossip.Show Notes
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has scored a significant legal victory after the High Court quashed the search warrants used by police investigating allegations connected to Jeffrey Epstein.
Thames Valley Police conceded that the warrants had been obtained under the wrong legal provision. However, the judge emphasized that the decision does not end the criminal investigation or establish that the entire investigation was unlawful. Andrew continues to deny wrongdoing and remains under investigation without charge.
Separately, Andrew has reportedly received approximately $400,000 in compensation for surrendering his lease at Royal Lodge. That payment concerns his former Windsor residence and is unrelated to the court ruling.
And the legal problems may not be over. The Financial Times reports that lawyers in a separate civil fraud case involving approximately $53 million want Andrew to testify. Andrew is not a defendant in that case, and the judge has not yet determined whether he will be required to appear. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams suggests King Charles could be “hopping mad” that his brother has once again brought the Epstein controversy into the headlines.
Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are facing fresh calls to stop using their HRH styles while pursuing private business careers. We also learn about Andrew’s unusual new neighbors at Sandringham, a herd of rare British White cattle, and the rapid sale of a Bentley he once owned.
Away from Andrew, King Charles has unveiled a new state portrait destined for Canada, admitted that his earliest attempts at painting were terrible and shared a charming encounter with a young rapper performing a song about needing her king.
