"I was in this darkness. and this huge, wrinkly, beautiful old person's hand came down from above, and scooped me up, and I heard, 'Trust in me, and everything will be all right.'" ---------- Denny Thompson was 38 years old when a motorcycle accident left him in a coma for months. Doctors weren't optimistic. His family faced impossible decisions. But while unconscious, Denny experienced something he still struggles to explain. A strange place. Questions. Childlike joy. Darkness. And a moment that would permanently change how he understood life. Then he woke up. What followed should have led to anger, despair, and asking why. Instead… something else happened. This is one of the most unforgettable conversations I've ever recorded -- and one of the clearest examples I've heard of how an encounter with God can reorder everything. Listen all the way through. The flower opens slowly. More from Touched by Heaven - Everyday Encounters with God
"I was walking up this mountain with others. There was a light at the top. No way. My plan was to come back down." ---------- Moses climbed a mountain to meet God. Isaiah pictured people climbing up to Him. During his near-death experience, Jose found himself climbing a mountain toward a light he knew was God's presence. Moments earlier, he had been in an ambulance. Now, outside his body, he feared reaching the summit meant never returning. Shown the sins of his life, he wanted to go back and make things right. But everything changed when the Father held him in his arms. ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. "Bless me Father, for I am drunk." ---------- Larisa walked into the confessional, drunk. This would be the culmination of a life in which childhood abuse left her feeling unloved, and drinking became a way to escape the pain. Along the way, she experienced terrifying encounters with evil—and heard the voice of Jesus inviting her toward something better. ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. "I am with you, always. It was a male voice. I immediately thought, Wait, I have more questions." ---------- What if God spoke on every radio and television station in the world? That's the premise of the 1950 movie The Next Voice You Hear, starring James Whitmore and Nancy Davis, the future Nancy Reagan. His messages confront disbelief and promise miracles. While watching the movie recently, I thought of our listener, Alice. 30+ years ago, she had a particularly interesting moment with the voice. What really happens when the next voice you hear, is His? ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. Joe is 50, looks 35, and prays like he is eight! ---------- Joe had reached the top of the horse world. Then his marriage, business, and home fell apart. On a dark day in Ireland, with little hope left, he stepped outside and prayed: "Lord Jesus, if you're there, I need your help." What Joe says he saw in the sky sent him searching for a personal relationship with Jesus. That search led him to Medjugorje--and into conversations and prayers that would change other lives, too. Joe's stories are bold, sometimes startling, and full of the childlike trust he has learned to bring to God, one simple prayer at a time. ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. "As a nine-year-old in the ER, I was observing everything from above, the absolute panic, and hysteria. But I was at peace and felt the sensation of being cradled."
