Step into the peaceful world of a medieval monastery and spend your days as a manuscript illuminator, transforming simple parchment into a work of extraordinary color and detail.

By candlelight, you carefully grind pigments, prepare delicate brushes, decorate intricate initials, paint tiny saints and strange creatures, and apply shimmering sheets of gold leaf. Every brushstroke requires patience, because one trembling hand or unfortunate drop of ink can threaten days of painstaking work.

As weeks turn into months and the seasons change beyond the monastery walls, the manuscript slowly comes to life beneath your hands. Settle in, relax, and experience the quiet artistry, careful craftsmanship, and gentle routines behind some of the most beautiful books of the medieval world.
