If you think modern English cricket can be chaotic, cast your mind back to the summer of 1988.
England were confronted by perhaps the most formidable team in world cricket: Viv Richards' West Indies. What followed was a summer of battered batsmen, terrifying fast bowling, captaincy turmoil and one of the most extraordinary Test series in English cricket history.
The West Indies arrived with Malcolm Marshall, Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh and Patrick Patterson — and England discovered very quickly that survival was going to be difficult. In this episode, Mark and Marcus explore the notorious "summer of the four captains" — or five, depending on how you count the men who led England during the wider season. As well as diving into the details we speak to a very special guest, one who knows more than most about the events that unfolded, captain Chris Cowdrey.

In this second part of two, Mark and Marcus are joined by former cricketer turned journalist and broadcaster Simon Hughes to further unpack the GREATEST overseas XI English county cricket has seen. Otherwise known as 'The Analyst' Simon has played for the likes of Middlesex and Durham, along with transitioning into the world of media, reporting and commentating on many major platforms such as the BBC and Channel 4. He also hosts his own podcast 'The Analyst Inside Cricket'.
In this first part of two, Mark and Marcus go head-to-head to pick their ultimate All-Time XI of players who made their mark in the English game from overseas. In this inspiring episode, we sit down with racing driver Billy Monger to hear the story behind one of motorsport’s most remarkable comebacks.
