Show Notes
Haere mai Welcome to a fun episode with our close friend, Hannah Thompson. We start our episode talking about Dwayne's VERT challenge thus far and a special voice recording from TrailRunningNZ, Bradley Houghton. THEN. We talk Mal's favourite subject... marathon training and race day! Hannah was on Episode 11| Running with Type 1 Diabetes of this podcast where she gives details of what it is like to train with Type 1 Diabetes. This episode is focusing more on her 20-week build up to Gold Coast Marathon, why she chose Gold Coast Marathon and training after Hyrox Competition, her strength training sessions, race day, and interesting stories of running with a 3:30 pace group plus stabbing herself twice with injections. Hannah is inspiring and we are very very lucky to have her on and hear the debrief of her training. Thanks for the listen's y'all. We look forward to hearing your comments below on the gram, Spotify or via email at [email protected] Keep chafing your dreamzzzzz

Kia ora haere mai Welcome to another episode with Mal and Dwayne. We start the episode talking about our training. Dwayne’s taper week leading up to Taupo and Mal’s Frihaka plus being plagued with illness. Seems to be a reoccurring issue in this podcast.
Kia ora Welcome to another great episode with Mal and Dwayne. We start this episode doing some housekeeping.
Kia ora welcome to another episode of Chafing the Dream with Mal and Dwayne.
Kia ora Welcome to a funnnn episode of several different voices besides the usual Mal and Dwayne yarning and yarning and yarning away. I don't know if you can tell at this point, but I (Mal) writes the pod description and truly believe nobody even reads this bloody thing. Anyways...
This week Mal and Dwayne share their recent training progress, Mal has an updated lift program which she is very excited about and Dwayne is staring down the barrel of the Taupo 100km in a little over 3 weeks. They also go over the recent results from the local half marathon, as well as Dwayne's experience running as the 1:40 pacer. Lastly the up coming mile series has both Dwayne and Mal very excited. And it's not just that Mal is excited to hear a measurement in the imperial units. The track has a special place in her heart and she's hoping more people will discover this passion. So hold on to your earbuds as this might turn into a track podcast for a few weeks. If you want to sign up to race The Mile you can do so here: https://hatea.run/event/the-mile/ Entry closes 4th Oct.
