Show Notes
Gunsmoke presents “Doubtful Zone,” episode 254 of the classic CBS radio series, originally broadcast on February 17, 1957. William Conrad stars as Marshal Matt Dillon, with Parley Baer, Georgia Ellis, and Howard McNear among the regular cast.
A Dodge City store break-in leaves Dillon with an odd list of missing goods—ordinary provisions, plus a pistol and ammunition. A clue from Doc Adams points the marshal toward a teenage runaway traveling in boys’ clothing, turning a simple theft into a troubling case. Written by Les Crutchfield and directed by Norman Macdonnell.
Gunsmoke presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
