Show Notes
Gunsmoke presents “Twelfth Night,” episode 194 of the classic CBS radio series, originally broadcast December 25, 1955. Written by John Meston and directed by Norman Macdonnell, it stars William Conrad as Marshal Matt Dillon, with Parley Baer as Chester.
During the Christmas season in Dodge City, an Ozarks mountain man arrives carrying a long rifle and searching for an old enemy. As Dillon investigates a feud rooted in mountain custom, he and the regulars face the danger of violence between two families’ last survivors. The title reflects the Ozarks tradition of celebrating Christmas twelve days later, on Twelfth Night.
Gunsmoke presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
