This week on The Songwriter Connection Podcast, my guest is the incredibly talented Michelle Canning — singer, songwriter, and producer of a truly unique Christmas project titled “Hey, Have You Heard?”
This isn’t your typical Christmas album. Michelle has created what she calls a Christmas opera — a beautifully woven collection of songs inspired by the people and stories surrounding the birth of Jesus. Each song gives a fresh voice and perspective to the familiar Nativity story — from Mary and Joseph to the shepherds, the angels, and even the humble donkey that carried Mary to Bethlehem.
Join us as Michelle shares how this imaginative and heartfelt project came to life, the songwriting and production process behind it, and the deeper meaning she hopes listeners will take away this holiday season.

That early blues influence continues to shape her sound, giving her country and Americana a distinctive grit and emotional weight.
