Ep 1413 | “Muslims Love Jesus:” Debunking the Right’s Strange New Myth
Relatable with Allie Beth StuckeySummary
A controversial discussion emerges regarding the potential for a Christian-Muslim alliance, with some influential voices suggesting that shared beliefs between the two faiths could foster cooperation. Proponents argue that both religions have conservative values and a common enemy in secularism, pointing to statements from public figures like Tucker Carlson and Catholic writer E. Michael Jones, who advocate for unity based on mutual respect and shared moral commitments.
However, critics assert that the theological differences between Christianity and Islam are too significant to overlook. The discussion highlights the historical context of Christian-Muslim relations, referencing events from the aftermath of 9/11 to contemporary political rhetoric. Notably, the podcast emphasizes that both Muslims and Jews hold views of Jesus that diverge sharply from traditional Christian beliefs, leading to the conclusion that neither group aligns with the core tenets of Christianity.
The conversation also delves into historical conflicts, including the persecution of Christians in Muslim-majority countries and the implications of Sharia law on religious freedom. The hosts argue that while short-term alliances may be formed for political reasons, the fundamental differences in ideology and theology make a lasting partnership impractical. Ultimately, they advocate for love and respect towards all individuals, while maintaining a commitment to the truth of the Christian faith.
Show Notes
Many influential figures on the right are emphasizing the similarities between Islam and Christianity, suggesting that a Christian Muslim alliance is possible. However, Allie looks at the many times in history where this same opinion has been voiced and the political and theological implications of this view. She also looks at how both religions have cohabitated throughout history, the important doctrinal differences, and the terrorist rates among muslims compared to other religious groups. Allie provides clarity about a contentious issue and asks important questions.

In today's episode, we sit down with Wikipedia co-founder, philosopher, and writer Larry Sanger to discuss his journey and testimony as he went from being an atheist to believing in God through reading the Bible. He tells us about his upbringing in the Lutheran Church and how his philosophical questioning led him to become an atheist. Larry also discusses how his own philosophical writings later in life led him to start questioning his beliefs and how he watched atheism become almost dogmatic in nature. We talk about how he read the Bible for the first time and how that led him to understand God and salvation through Jesus Christ. Larry's testimony shows us how even the hardest philosophical questions can lead someone to Christ.
Incrementalism? Or abolitionism? CEO of Alliance Family Services Ginna Cross sits down with Allie to explore the growing divide among pro-lifers on how to rid the world of abortion. Should equal protection for unborn children extend to legal consequences for not only the people who perform abortions, but also for the women who knowingly obtain them? What is the culpability of those who pressure others to pursue abortion, and what does true compassion toward both mother and child look like? This is an important and challenging conversation about the legal, moral, and theological questions at the heart of the pro-life movement.
With midterm elections just around the corner, it’s critical to understand a dangerous ideology gaining ground among young people. In this episode, Allie clearly explains what socialism actually is — and how figures like Zohran Mamdani and AOC package it to sound appealing. She contrasts their rhetoric with the historical record in places like the Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, and Zimbabwe. Allie also addresses the claim that “Jesus would be a socialist,” showing from Scripture why that idea is false and how socialism stands in direct opposition to biblical Christianity.Do you have a question for Allie? It’s that time of year! Christians have long debated what participation with Halloween should look like. There are many views on the topic spanning from total avoidance to full participation. Allie looks at each position and what the bible says in order to have a well rounded view of the highly contentious holiday. She also looks at how it can be redeemed and even be an opportunity to share the gospel. Halloween is an issue that Christians have liberty to differ on, however it is one that deserves careful consideration by asking not only what is right and what is wrong, but what is best.
Allie’s dad, Ron Simmons, is back on Relatable giving insight on crucial political and cultural topics. He looks at Social Security, the midterm elections and political candidates, and answers questions from listeners regarding family and finances. With political engagement being low among young Americans, Ron encourages Christians to vote and reminds them of the opportunity Christians have to make change through politics.
