Kia ora Welcome to another episode . Wowza are we lucky! We got to have two legends, Katie White and Bradley Houghton give us their voice diaries to close out our Ring of Fire series. Before digging into the diaries we talk about 3 upcoming races: - Kai Iwi Lakes Triathlon and Trail Race - Run the Bays - King's Backyard It was honestly so nice and fun following along with their training and then hear their reflections of Ring of Fire . Very impressive on both ends! Bradley Houghton was our first diary singer. He shares the highs, the lows, what he would change with his training, and his usual entertaining insights. You can read Bradley's newsletter here called Trail Running NZ. It is a laugh and off. All for FREE 99. We close our diaries with Katie White. It was so cool to hear how the race played out for her. Also really sweet to hear her girls made it out to one of the aid stations and to see her at the Finish Line. Finally, Dwayne and I are promoting the Northland 100 Entries giveaway event called the Watchless Race. This is held on Anzac Weekend, 26th April at 2PM at the Te Pohe Island Playground Carpark. We will announce the course the day of the event, in summary you are to guess what time you can run the course we provide (will be between 2-3km) and you are NOT be allowed to use your watch. Hence the name ;) Then the folks closest to their guessed times to run their actual times will WIN the free entry tickets to the Northland 100.
Looking forward to seeing y'all there.

Kia ora haere mai Welcome to another episode with Mal and Dwayne. We start the episode talking about our training. Dwayne’s taper week leading up to Taupo and Mal’s Frihaka plus being plagued with illness. Seems to be a reoccurring issue in this podcast.
Kia ora Welcome to another great episode with Mal and Dwayne. We start this episode doing some housekeeping.
Kia ora welcome to another episode of Chafing the Dream with Mal and Dwayne.
Kia ora Welcome to a funnnn episode of several different voices besides the usual Mal and Dwayne yarning and yarning and yarning away. I don't know if you can tell at this point, but I (Mal) writes the pod description and truly believe nobody even reads this bloody thing. Anyways...
This week Mal and Dwayne share their recent training progress, Mal has an updated lift program which she is very excited about and Dwayne is staring down the barrel of the Taupo 100km in a little over 3 weeks. They also go over the recent results from the local half marathon, as well as Dwayne's experience running as the 1:40 pacer. Lastly the up coming mile series has both Dwayne and Mal very excited. And it's not just that Mal is excited to hear a measurement in the imperial units. The track has a special place in her heart and she's hoping more people will discover this passion. So hold on to your earbuds as this might turn into a track podcast for a few weeks. If you want to sign up to race The Mile you can do so here: https://hatea.run/event/the-mile/ Entry closes 4th Oct.
