Join Randy and The Calgary Crue (Jon Garner / Brett Miles) as they celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Judas Priest's 10th studio album 'Turbo', released April 7, 1986 and Iron Maiden's 6th studio album ‘Somewhere in Time’, released September 29, 1986, with an epic BR&RNR 'Bar Fight'.
While both British heavy metal titans concurrently pivoted to guitar synthesizers to modernise their sound, their executions resulted in starkly different legacies. Judas Priest did a conscious dive into radio-friendly glam metal and pop-infused hooks and Iron Maiden made a futuristic, progressive masterpiece that used technology to deepen its atmosphere rather than simplify its structure.
Plus, we dive into the raw and controversial Paul Di’Anno documentary, discuss Iron Maiden’s original singer and his complicated legacy, debate the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and react to the surprise Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple reunion.
