Show Notes
And now for something just a little bit different .... What happens when two old mods finally sit down and compare style notes? They discover their paths directly crossed nearly 40 years earlier for one thing. And they explore new sounds, old bands, and the everlasting strength of the mod lifestyle. I am joined by one of the best northern soul, mod DJs on the scene today, Mod Marty. He's the host of his own long running podcast On Target, and part of The Internationalists Club podcast along with T-Spurs and Lord Ward. Both highly recommended.

Welcome to the wild side of the mod beginnings, the wild, wooly, often whacky, world of freakbeat. What is freakbeat? Good question and depending on who you ask people will tell you the sound of freakbeat includes everything from The Dave Clark Five to The Pretty Things, Herman's Hermits to The Beatles to The Action to even The Supremes. Anyhow here's my answer to that question. Let's take a walk on the wild side.
