Pregnancy & Baby Loss: How to Cope When Everyone Else Moves On

Don't Tell Me To RELAX- Your Fertility Podcast

Show Notes

As you may know, Baby Loss Awareness Week (BLAW) begins today Friday, 9 October. So I am joined by Carly, a fertility coach, our community leader and certified grief coach, about what it feels like when everyone else has moved on but you are still living with loss. We explore baby loss, pregnancy loss, the grief that comes in waves, and practical ways to stay connected while also making room for hope. We discuss: what grief coaching is & her training why loss is loss, whether it was a chemical pregnancy, an unsuccessful transfer, or another form of baby loss. the importance of continuing bonds, including ways to keep a connection through names, rituals, special places, jewellery, scan boxes, or planting something meaningful. how grief can come back suddenly through anniversaries, scans, songs, places, or body memories, and that this does not mean anything is wrong. how there is tension between grief and hope, and how two emotions can exist at the same time without one cancelling the other.

We understand that BLAW can be overwhelming, so it's important that you do what feels right for you. For further support please see-

I am with Cory Ruth (The Women's Dietitian), a registered dietitian who specializes in PMOS, formerly known as PCOS, about how insulin resistance affects symptoms, ovulation, and fertility. Cory explains why blood sugar regulation matters even when someone is not in a larger body. We discuss: what insulin resistance actually is and it's impact on the body why not everyone with PMOS fits neatly into a type, and why Cory prefers to treat symptoms and lab results instead of forcing people into categories. how insulin resistance disrupts ovulation, making PMOS a leading cause of infertility. how nutrition is the foundation of treatment, and why she starts with blood sugar support regardless of weight or pregnancy goals. what PMOS-friendly eating pattern looks like- built around protein, fat, fiber, and smart carbohydrate choices rather than extreme restriction. why low-carb, no-carb, gluten-free, or dairy-free approaches are not helpful, GLP1s for PMOS and fertility
