In this episode of The Brink, Andrew and Jake are joined by former British diplomat Ameer Kotecha, who resigned from the Foreign Office after becoming disillusioned with Britain's foreign policy. Drawing on his experience at the British Embassy in Tel Aviv, Ameer reveals why he believes Labour has squandered Britain's influence in Israel, damaged vital intelligence relationships and put domestic political interests ahead of national security. The conversation also exposes what Ameer describes as a culture of DEI and virtue signalling within the Foreign Office, and asks whether Britain's diplomatic establishment has lost sight of its most important duty: serving the national interest.
