Show Notes
We are now in the midst of Dublin Theatre Festival which I can already say has been thrilling and exhilarating. Going into week two, I’m talking to the festival’s Artistic Director and Chief Executive Róise Goan about the Irish theatre landscape, how she approached programming the festival and the importance of Dublin having conversations with the rest of the world.
The festival runs until the 11th Oct so there is still so much time to delve in and see a show. https://dublintheatrefestival.ie/ Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

On this week’s pod, I talk to poet and stylist Jan Brierton. I first saw her performing her poems at ‘Roots & Rearers’ in the Liberties Festival with Martina Keegan for Uachtarán na hÉireann Catherine Connolly. And when I saw her posting that she wrote her poems on the bus, I knew I had to talk to her about our shared love of the bus. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
With the amount of issues we have in Dublin, it can sometimes feel frivolous and superfluous to even consider talking about the aesthetics of what's being built in a city that is under such immense pressure to even provide the basics. Sure what it looks like doesn't matter. WRONG! Joining me today is Abigail Scott Paul, Global Head of the Humanise - the global campaign for more human and joyful buildings. The campaign is grounded in research; neuroscience and neuro-aesthetics; cognitive science; environmental psychology; place-based studies and evidence. And let me tell you, what it looks like matters. Hugely, Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
As the popularity of GLP-1's continues to soar, it is so evident that the way they work acts as a dampener of communication between our dopamine receptors. As we suppress our appetite, are we also suppressing our pleasure? I speak with Anna Hutchcroft, Managing Editor of Moi Pleasure.
